Every week we are going to be sharing the stories of those who are already lifting themselves physically and mentally to be better and overcome the daily struggles of life. They will be sharing what has helped them so far to combat their daily hardships, along with giving advice to those who may need it. These are the LFT Stories.

This week we are kicking things off with Marcus.

What do you do for a living?

I currently work as an Online Salesman Assistant. But becoming a personal trainer in physical and mental health has been a passion i have wanted to pursue for a while now.

Have you ever experienced a challenging time in your life, or suffered from a mental health illness? If so, how did you get through it?

Yes. One stands out every time someone mentions about a challenging time in my life. For me it has always been within relationships, whether that be love or just a friendly relationship. Its been a struggle for me to keep a lot of people that I thought would be with me forever! Going forward with life i've realised that the new people that enter your life are all there for a reason, although it may not be clear in the moment it will soon align that they where just there to help support you in your journey of life whether that be a negative approach or positive.

Whats one thing do you do most days to keep yourself mentally focused?

Keeping active. Enough said!

But seriously, just getting out and doing something.. Clearing my mind, doing the things that I love doing which is being creative.

Whats one thing do you do most days to keep physically active?

I train 6 days a week at the gym and for the longest time that has always been my outlet for stress and depression  and i have always tried to encourage individuals to do it. As once you start seeing progression it becomes a positive addiction and you start to appreciate yourself and your body more!

Whats one piece of advice would you give to someone who is going through a challenging time?

Speak to people. It makes you no weaker, if anything it should make you stronger! You will find people by doing that, who are going through similar things or have been through it.

Tell us one fun/interesting/crazy fact about yourself?

I'm pretty open most of the time so i would think a lot of people know a lot of crazy interesting things about me already. But if I had to choose one then it would have to be i used to make money playing video games 12 hours a day.
